Florida Farewell: Capturing Moments of Gratitude in My Journal

As I sit here writing this last journal entry from Florida this season, I am overwhelmed with a profound sense of gratitude. I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to live a snowbird lifestyle—to split my time between two beautiful homes, each offering its own unique charms and experiences.

In Florida, I am grateful for the warm sunshine, the colours of the tropical flowers and this amazing community that Steve and I are a part of. I treasure the memories of lazy days spent lounging by the pool, evenings filled with laughter and camaraderie, competitive pickleball games, long walks with Tank & Ellie and the new hobbies that have enriched my life this past season.

As I look forward to returning to my home in Canada, I am reminded of the beauty of the changing seasons, the sense of belonging that comes from being surrounded by family and old friends, and the comforts of home that I hold dear. I am grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with loved ones, to embrace familiar traditions and make new ones in our new home. I am excited to watch Savannah play soccer and to have Lilah’s cuddles….to savour the simple joys of life in the north. I am filled with optimism for the new adventures that await me in our new neighbourhood.

Living a snowbird lifestyle has been a gift beyond measure, and I am profoundly grateful for the experiences, friendships, and memories that have shaped my journey. As I bid farewell to one home and prepare to embrace another, I do so with a heart full of gratitude and appreciation for the blessings that have enriched my life in both Florida and Canada.

Oh Donna, I wish it was. It’s nothing more than a bunch of drivel!!! 😂 I have no wise words. Whatever is on my mind goes in my journal. It could be what I am thinking of making for dinner to what I am annoyed at..or who I am annoyed at! 😂
Try it. No wise words required.

Good morning Sarah. yes, I believe it does make life better. It makes it easier too. Things that used to be important to me, no longer are. I appreciate so much more of the little things I always took for granted.
I am certainly grateful for today’s sunshine 😊 Have a wonderful day.
