It’s been a while since my last post….and here it is the end of 2020! What a year…what a Christmas season it was…or wasn’t…depending on your situation.
This year was all about being thankful for what we have in our lives. We are all dealing with anxieties, CoVids on everyone’s’ mind day and night.
Steve and I were ‘stuck’ in Florida for the Christmas season. I can think of worse places to be…but the problem was obviously not seeing our family and our granddaughters! It was a heartbreaker for sure, but we just didn’t want to chance travelling!
It was hard not seeing Lilah with all her Christmas magic…Savannah is 10 and still believes in Santa Clause too…I fear this will be her last year of believing….and I wasn’t there to see it…
Our daughter Lauren is out on the west coast and was all set to come to stay with us for the holiday with her new puppy Scooby. She had to cancel her plans too. I feel sad for her being out there on her own. She set us all up on a Zoom call on Christmas day so we at least got to have a family chat and see the girls.
Let’s move on….
Steve and I do have some good news to share in all of this…our last FL home sold in the summer. We were able to call on a young friend of ours to help us out organizing the movers and doing Face Time calls with me while we decided what furniture was to stay and what was to be sold…I couldn’t have done it without her. We now have 12,000 lbs of furniture and ‘stuff’ in a storage unit!! Needless to say, it is costing a small fortune. When we came down in November we moved into a rental home and had decided that we would rent for the season and not rush into anything….that lasted six days. Now we have a new house! LOL…we take possession on January 11th.
I’m excited to share some photos with you. It’s very cozy with 2 bedrooms & den. It ticked all the appropriate boxes for us…and did I mention our neighbours? What a great group.
No matter how perfect you think a new house is going to be there is always something that needs to be done right? In this case, the first thing will be the master bedroom. I loved my last bedroom and plan to duplicate it in this house. I kept all the furniture and artwork…so all this room needs is a coat of pain. I am debating on tackling it myself… it depends on if the ceiling needs a coat of paint. If it does – I’m out! LOL. Either way, I’ll post before and after pics!
The rest will have to wait. I have a budget that I have to work on (wink/wink). Steve and I both agree that we would like to do the outdoor areas as soon as we get in. We spend so much time outside we definitely want to be comfy!
I’ll have lots to blog about as we move forward setting the house up to be our home.
Tank doesn’t seem too concerned about anything these days…He is living it up! He loves jet skiing with us. We take him to the dog beach so that he can play with all the other doggos ! He loves the pool…anytime we take him for a walk he immediately goes out back for a refreshing dip. We’ve had some hot days!! I don’t know what we’d do without that pool. He has met so many dogs in our new neighbourhood and has made his presence know to the humans with his charming personality!
Bonita Bay has done a beautiful job at keeping us all safe. They did a fantastic job decorating the clubhouse and parks for us to enjoy.
If any of you are on FB check out my new group called Savvy Tablescapes & Vignettes. A place to share all of your creativity and inspire others.
Looking forward to a new year filled with hope, health and happiness. 2020 was not what I expected but I am grateful to all of you for following along.
